MASC 40 – Finalist Award!

My song “intimate” was chosen as a finalist in the Lyrics Only category for this this year’s Mid-Atlantic Song Competition!!

“intimate” represents my (and many others) queer coming-of-age story: discovering who we are slowly, through small moments with the right people, rather than fitting into the clear-cut identities we so often read about in books, gossiped about at sleepovers, and saw in Disney movies.

Queer self-discovery is a story too often left untold, woven into bad memories of self-repression, guilt, and years of second-guessing. This song is about what i learned and gained from those memories, and I can’t wait to record it in 2024.
